WE’RE BACK!

I don’t even know where to begin. I feel like I have been out of touch with the world for so long. But it was wonderful to get away from everything and just enjoy life, family and the true meaning of Christmas.

We got in at 2am this morning. We have found that when we drive through the night (or should I say “when Seth drives”) we make it home in 7 hours…from Boston…that is amazing.

Since so much happened in a week, here is what we did in a nut shell:

  • The morning we were leaving, Allister (our kitty) got sick and we had to make an emergency visit to the vet. Long story, but they had to shave his bum and tail and he looks hilarious.
  • Went to church and opened presents
  • Played more board games with the family then we have played in a YEAR
  • Ate ALL day long
  • Saw so many family and friends
  • Shopped, drank lots of yummy drinks at Jumpin’ Juice and Java (one of their friends just opened the shop and it is doing amazing)
  • Witnessed my sister in-law make her first wedding cake
  • Seth’s 35th cousin was born…Mason Paul (was born to John and Linda Wilkerson. Their 8th child, 7th boy!) Do you see how Seth’s family reproduces!!! We figured out that Seth has 23 boy cousins and 12 girl cousins (this is including 3 second cousins and 2 step cousins) Do you see why I am convinced I am having a boy? One night this week I was sitting in a room with about 15 boys (all related to Seth) and just knew I was bound to have a boy.

We will be posting photos very soon. We took lots of photos; or should I say everyone took lots of photos. They were all in love with our new camera and would grab it and just starting taking photos.

Baby Nick is growing, as well as his/her mommy. I feel little touches throughout the day or what seem to be little kicks, but since this is all new to me I still wonder if it is the baby.

We had a great vacation, but I’m so happy to be home.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Boston..here we come!

We will soon be leaving for Mass. As long as it isn’t raining too hard we will be leaving late Friday night. We are really looking forward to having some time off and just getting away. As much as I hate leaving my family for Christmas, I can’t wait to see my other family. It has been a year since we have been up there so we are staying for a whole week! It should be lots of fun. Seth has a zillion cousins and aunts & uncles, so there are always so many fun people to see. I don’t have ANY cousins (I know, everyone is shocked) but I feel like I have made up for it when I married Seth. I don’t even think he could tell you all their names…he has that many.

I hate leaving my kitty cat, Allister, though. But my wonderful neighbors will be taking care of him and I know they will be spoiling him on Christmas day, so I shouldn’t worry about him. But I’m his mommy, so I have to worry. :) He is such a “needy” cat and when we leave for that long he is EVEN more needy. When we come back from a long trip, he follows us around everywhere and will be sleeping on my neck for the next week to make sure I am not leaving him again.

In other exciting news, I think I might have felt the baby kick, but I’m not sure. I was lying in bed this morning and felt something weird, so I put my hand on my stomach and waited…and then felt it again. Seth says it is just gas, but I’m not so sure. This felt different then anything I have felt before. Seth is a walking pregnancy book. He has read so many. You wouldn’t believe the stash of pregnancy books that is in our house. So from his reading he says I won’t feel the baby till Week 17. But I’m the mommy and I have the baby in my tummy and I know I felt something strange. :)

Merry Christmas!

As you can see, the mini photo shoot with my little princess started out fairly well and then it quickly went down hill. Victoria was not happy with her auntie as you can see in the last photo. She is even adorable when she screams.

You can see more on the sidebar. If you don’t know, you can click on the sidebar photos and it will take you to our flickr account where you can view any of our “public” photos.

Her jaudice is going away. She still has it but she doesn’t have to go back to the hospital, so that is great news!

***These photos were taken with our new lens. Seth and I got it for each other for Christmas and of course we couldn’t wait till Christmas to use it. I’m in LOVE with it! Thanks Sethy!!!

Week 14

Tomorrow is full of work, work, work and then Seth’s annual work Christmas party.

Here is what is happening at week 14: babycenter.com
Head to bottom, your baby’s 3 1/2 inches long — about the length of a lemon — and weighs about 1 1/2 ounces. Her body’s growing faster than her head, which now sits upon a more well-defined neck. By the end of this week, her arms will have lengthened and will be in proportion to the rest of her body. (Her legs still have some growing to do, though.) She’s starting to develop an ultra-fine, downy covering of hair all over her body (called lanugo). Her liver starts secreting bile this week, a sign that it’s already functioning properly, and her spleen starts contributing to the production of red blood cells. She’s also producing and discharging urine into the amniotic fluid, a normal process that she’ll keep up until birth. You still can’t feel your baby’s movements, but her hands and feet (which are now half an inch long) are more flexible and active. Thanks to brain impulses, her little facial muscles are getting a workout as she squints, frowns, and grimaces. She can grasp now, too, and she may be able to suck her thumb.

This is a picture of the baby in the womb at 14 weeks. They can already suck their thumb…how cute is that. Although, we hope Baby Nick isn’t a thumb sucker.
