Birthday Weekend

Saturday, Nov. 11 was Seth’s 26th Birthday. It was a great weekend of being together. Friday night we actually went to the Movies. We rarely go because we hate spending that much money on tickets, but we had free passes…so that made it more fun. Then Sat. we hit the Japanese Steak House, which was delicious, and the mall to buy Seth some new clothes.
Tonight we have just spent what feels like hours searching for baby names. We only agree on a few, and when I say few…I mean the selection is very, very slim.

My dad loves how we call the baby Nick, and now thinks that if we have a boy, Nick Nickerson would be such a great name. I just can’t do that, but it is so funny to hear my dad talk about our baby…already calling him Nick. He was stuck on Rocco for the LONGEST time, but I think he finally gets it that we aren’t going to name the baby Rocco.

Monday will soon be here and I have an early morning organizing appointment with a new client…so I must get to bed early, because an Organizer must never be late.

I wanted to write this on Nov. 11th, but here it is anyway-HAPPY BIRTHDAY SETH! You are the love of my life!

The Call

A couple people have asked if I could post the audio recording from when we told my family about the news. So the story is: we called Shauna (my sister) a couple days beforehand, told her, and asked her to videotape everyone’s reaction since we couldn’t see them in person. We still haven’t seen the tape yet, but at the last minute I thought I should also record the audio, so here it is as an mp3. Sorry if it’s long, but I cut a lot off at the end.

PregCam Stays!

Ok, so by popular demand I guess the PregCam is staying up. (But I do have the right at any time to take it down!) We will be taking a new photo today, so I’ll be sure to keep the post somewhat updated.

My wonderful Mom took me maternity shopping yesterday! I know, it is early, but nothing fits me and I have been miserable so maternity clothes here I come. They actually make great maternity clothes that don’t look like maternity clothes, so that makes feeling fat a little better.

Thank you all for being so happy about our baby! The floods of gifts and cards is so meaningful and we are so grateful for each of you. Baby Nick has already taken over the Nickerson household.

Isn’t my hubby great!!!

Thanks to Seth for making this blog look better. (Although, I’m not sure how I feel showing my growing tummy to the world) :)

So, my baby ticker says I’m 8 weeks….um…I thought I was 9. Well, we will soon be going to the Doctors again around 12 weeks, so once we hear the heartbeat hopefully they will tell me exactly how far along I am.

8 or 9 weeks….here is what is going on with Baby Nick. (I got this from babycenter.com and they chose to call the baby a her today.)
Your baby is now 5/8 of an inch long, about the size of a kidney bean. She’s constantly moving and shifting, although you won’t be able to feel these womb wiggles for several weeks yet. Her embryonic tail is disappearing, and her eyelids practically cover her eyes. Still slightly webbed, her fingers and toes are growing longer. Her arms have lengthened, too, and her hands are now flexed at the wrist. Her knee and elbow joints have formed so she can now bend both, and her feet may be long enough to meet in front of her body. With her trunk straightening out, her head is more erect. Breathing tubes extend from her throat to the branches of her developing lungs. The nerve cells in her brain are also branching out to connect with one another, forming primitive neural pathways. Though you may be daydreaming about your baby as one gender or another, the external genitals still haven’t developed enough to reveal whether you’re having a boy or a girl.
