Week 13

It’s Sunday night and since I have a long day ahead of me tomorrow, I decided to write this post early.

I can’t believe the weekend is already over. It definitely flew by. Overall the wedding shoot went great. I mean, there is definitely many things Allison and I still need to learn, but I am pretty confident that the couple will like our work (at least we hope so). Shooting a wedding is exhausting. I should have known. Every time Seth and I video a wedding, we are so tired and sore the next morning, which is exactly how I felt this morning. I couldn’t move. I felt like it took everything for me to get out of bed. But it is over and we shoot our next wedding in Feb.

Still no niece. I know you all are wondering, but I think she is a stubborn girl. She likes where she is at and isn’t coming out. So Tuesday, if she still hasn’t decided to make her way into this world, the doctors are inducing Kate. Poor Kate, she is just ready for her to come out!

Time is flying. I’m 13 weeks now and here is what is happening: “Your baby is now 3 inches long crown to rump — roughly the size of a jumbo shrimp — and weighs just about an ounce. Despite the small proportions, there’s a fully formed baby inside your womb now. Much more proportional than it was a few weeks ago, his head is now only about a third the size of his body. His tiny, unique fingerprints are already in place. His kidneys and urinary tract are functional, and he’s starting to urinate out the amniotic fluid he’s been swallowing. As you start your second trimester, most of your baby’s critical development will be completed, and your odds of miscarriage will drop considerably.”

It’s going to be a big weekend.

I can just feel it.

I shoot my first wedding tomorrow with my friend Allison. A little nerve racking, but I’m ready to do this and get it over with. However, if my niece decides to come tomorrow, my dear, sweet, wonderful hubby is going to shoot in my place. Thank God he can take pictures. Amazing pictures…way better than me and I took all the classes. HA! But he doesn’t care for portrait photography which is what I love to do and why we make a great photo team. He doesn’t like telling people how to sit, stand, move etc, and well, I like that…of course, only when I am taking pictures of people. But if he has to do it, he will do a great job and Allison fully trusts him (probably more than me!) :)

It’s freezing outside. Nothing is cuter than when you hear your husband saying “YAY” really loud b/c snow is falling. Last night I think a few flurries fell from the sky and he was so excited. As much as I hate the cold, I will take the snow to make my hubby happy.

Enjoy the weekend!

Dec. 7…my niece should be here.

Today is my sister, Kate’s, due date, but no niece yet. We all are just waiting on pins and needles. Poor Kate, she is just ready to have this baby. I’ll keep you all posted when she does arrive and will definitely be sharing pictures of our new niece.
I was too excited to report about our baby’s heartbeat that I didn’t share all the other things we learned at our second visit. More good news…we found out that our insurance covers everything…100% of all the maternity bills. We were so excited to hear that, being that we just switched health insurance companies in Nov. Also, Seth shocked me (once again). He stayed in the room with me the whole time and didn’t pass out. That is huge. I always thought he would be the type to pass out when I was in labor, but now I think he has made me change my mind. We also got to feel the baby. The midwife pushed up my uterus (who knew) and made Seth and I put our hands on my stomach to feel Baby Nick. Wow! Pregnancy is amazing.

We heard our baby’s heartbeat!

Seth and I had one of the most exciting days yesterday. We heard our baby’s heartbeat. It was so absolutely amazing! The midwife found it right away and it was very loud, clear and fast. We couldn’t believe it. It was just so wonderful! We are so thankful to God that He allowed us to hear Baby Nick’s heartbeat. We wanted to share this very exciting moment with you, so it is all on video. Check it out!
