Week 12

This weekend started the Holiday Fun. We hosted a Christmas Party at our house with our church friends. It was a grand time of food and fun. You can see some of the pictures from that night along the sidebar.

It is nearing the end of my first trimester. Praise God! It is a wonderful feeling. Tomorrow we hear Baby Nick’s heartbeat and we are so excited. We just pray we can hear it tomorrow and everything is ok.

Here is what is happening in Week 12: The fetus’s urinary tract is on line, and the fingernails are growing. A big portion of the amniotic fluid from this point on will be baby urine. Your fetus is looking like a baby and has advanced to the stage that its brain can transmit messages. Vocal chords are complete, and the child can and does sometimes cry (silently). The brain is fully formed, and the child can feel pain. The fetus may even suck his thumb. The eyelids now cover the eyes, and will remain shut until the seventh month to protect the delicate optical nerve fibers.

By the way, I had another awful baby dream last night. The doctor’s office that I usually go to called and said they couldn’t fit us in tomorrow and I would have to come back at 18 weeks. I was so upset and the only doctor’s office that would take us was going to charged us $50 per question we asked. So Seth and I were so terrified to ask any questions. Isn’t that a bizarre dream?

Baby Dreams

I have baby dreams every few weeks. Sometimes they are good and other days they are scary. The other night, however was pretty funny. I was pregnant but then all the sudden I was watching Seth give birth. So weird. It was a boy. All my dreams have said we are having a boy so I’m fully convinced, although I would be pleasantly surprised if we have a little girl. Seth isn’t convinced, but I keep seeing baby boys in my dreams so it is hard not to think that.

I’m finding I am having more bad dreams in general. Like last night, I was shooting my first wedding with my friend Ally (we are actually shooting it on Dec. 9th) and all the sudden my camera stopped working or if it did work the pictures were all blurry. It was not pleasant. I woke up in a panic and couldn’t go back to sleep. Thankfully, it was just a dream and I am bringing 2 cameras the day of the wedding to have a back up plan.

Another bad dream I had the other night…my preggers friend Linny told me she was using my girl name (will not be announced until a later date) and was going to use it if she had a boy or a girl. I was so upset. But thankfully, these are all bad, bad dreams.

Now, I know there are a lot of you out there reading this blog and Seth and I would love more comments from all of you. So, my questions today- For all the ladies that have been pregnant out there, do you usually have bad dreams like this?

Happy Friday!
