My nephew

I just have to be the proud auntie right now and brag on my adorable nephew, Josh. First here is his handsome school picture, no wonder the little girls write him love notes. Seriously, I can’t believe how bold 5 year old girls are these days. Kate is not happy about all the girls flirting with her son. What in the world is it going to be like when he becomes a teenager?

Then 2 weeks ago, Josh was baptized at our church. We are all so proud of him. He is such a sweet little boy who loves the Lord.

We had a wonderful time. Her family and my family have known each other for 25 years so we have the BEST time when we all get together. Enjoy the pictures. Here are a few. (Linny has the best facial expressions) For the rest of the shower pics just click on this link. http://www.flickr.com/gp/87151127@N00/zesrJ2

One month till June 15th

I had my 35 week check-up yesterday and Baby Nick is doing great. So great that the mid wife couldn’t believe how active he was. When she was taking his heartbeat, my entire stomach was moving left to right. She finally understood the pain that he is putting me through. The good news, he has dropped into position and my cervix is softening. YAY! He is getting ready for his big day!

I am scheduled for an induction on June 15th that is if Baby Nick hasn’t come before that. I am really hoping he does, because I would rather him come on his own.

I plan on working till the end of the month, just 2 ½ more weeks…I think I can do it. My feet are extremely swollen and it is so hard to find the time to put them up. But I’ll manage, it is ALL almost over. We just need him to wait till after this weekend. We have our birthing class (yes, we are late taking it) and our photo shoot with Allison. We just need those 2 things to happen, and then he can come. :)

We are taking our birthing class so late because we are taking the refresher course. I know, I know, we haven’t done this before, but I have been a Lamaze coach and seen 2 live births and Seth has pretty much read every pregnancy book out there. We just didn’t want to waste 5 precious nights and $100s of dollars to attend these classes. So we opted for the refresher course for one morning for 3 hours for only $50. We got a letter confirming our class and it stated “This is not for first time parents. You should not be attending if this is your first child”. Well, what are they really going to do, kick us out? I just told Seth not to ask questions and I’ll answer them later.

We are counting down the days in the Nickerson household. :)

Week 35

This weekend was grand. My mom and sisters headed down to Richmond, for my best friend Lindsay’s baby shower. (pictures to come) It was a wonderful time of visiting with friends and seeing Linny glow. All the ladies couldn’t keep their hands off baby Nick (which I don’t mind people touching my tummy-as long as I know you) I think people just love the fact that there is a living person in there….so touch away. Everyone couldn’t believe how strong his kicks are. I’m worried I’ve got a big boy in there. :)

Seth was off to Charlottesville for a guys weekend. I know he had lots of fun visiting with his old college buddies and doing “guy things”.

Here is what is happening this week: pregnancy.org & baby-gaga.com

Congratulations! You’re now carrying nearly 6 lbs of baby not counting their amniotic fluid, the umbilical cord, or the placenta itself. We’re impressed because that’s a LOT of work non-stop. At this point, your little-grower is almost busting out of the womb size-wise, which make their restricted attempts to move much challenging. Of course, your stubborn little sucker is still trying to move around as if they weren’t in a cramped space. And the accumulating baby fat deposits are starting to level off so your little butter ball will be padded and warm when they head out of their super snug little home.

Other interesting facts: Fat accumulations plumps up the arms and legs this week. These layers of fat will help him regulate his body temperature. They also provide those cute little dimples on elbows and knees! His hearing is fully developed, so be sure to talk to your baby. The testes have completed their descent in males.
