First Kiss

Actually, I should call it a lick. (Plus, let’s face it…I was his first kiss!) :)

Lindsay and I love that Abel and Ava are so close in age. We always joke that we want them to get married. Seth and Glenn tend to think we are serious, but we really just love to play around with the idea. In reality, they probably will grow up hating each other since they will more be like brother and sister. We thought we would have a little fun and lean them in for a little kiss. But my sweet little boy must of smelled milk on little miss Ava and leaned in and gave her a big lick…and she smiled back!Thankfully, we captured this precious moment that I will preserve in his baby book.

This past weekend was Heather’s shower (Lindsay’s sister in law). Here we were back at Lindsay’s shower (Abel came 3 weeks after this photo and Ava 8 weeks)

And here is all of us now. Isn’t Heather such an adorable pregnant woman! She was glowing at her shower and just looked beautiful. She is expecting her baby girl mid October. (Another girl for Abel to choose from) :)

Now for the cutest picture ever…

He LOVES bath time and I love it too. Wouldn’t you want to give him a bath all the time just to see this happy face? He gets a bath every night before bed and he giggles when he gets placed in his tub. He could be half asleep and the biggest grump, but the second you put him in the tub…this is the face you will get.

And now for the most precious after bath face…

Can you tell I am so in love with him!

Birthday wishes to my sweet nephew

My precious nephew is 7 years old today.

I’m going to get all sentimental here…I remember 7 years ago leaving Liberty (after only arriving 2 days earlier for my Junior year) to make it home for my nephew’s birth. Kate had gone into labor early and I wasn’t going to miss him entering into the world. She had a very long, tough labor…very similar to my labor with Abel.. and the big surprise was that we didn’t know what the sex was! We all just assumed the baby would be a girl since we come from all girls, but out came Josh, as adorable as ever. I remember watching him coming out and I thought to myself, “I really hope this baby is a boy because he really looks like a boy!”.

Josh is the sweetest, most sincere 7 year old you will ever meet. Everyone who meets him adores him. He has this contagious personality and you can’t help but love him.

Tonight was supposed to be his big “military birthday party”. My sister REALLY knows how to throw children’s birthday parties….she goes all out. She really is amazing. I told her she will have to plan and decorate for Abel, b/c Abel will soon realize what he is missing out on when he goes to his cousin’s birthday parties. Anyway, my sweet nephew got really sick today and we had to postpone his party. I feel sooooo bad for my precious boy. What a terrible way to spend your birthday, but he remains in good spirits.

So to my sweet nephew…. from your Auntie Juju (which he doesn’t call me anymore and informed me just yesterday he was too old to call me that) HAPPY BIRTHDAY and I LOVE YOU!!!!

I almost forgot

How could I forget this…it was the funniest thing that happened at the beach.

Seth and I went to the beach by ourselves one day for a little romantic time alone while the fam watched Abel. He asked me if I wanted to get in the water and I replied, “No, I don’t like to swim with all those creepy crawly creatures.” (I know, call me lame, call me chicken, call me soooooo not fun….I just don’t swim in the ocean. Ever since we went snorkeling on our honeymoon and someone causally said, “Oh, look a sand shark”. Supposedly, sand sharks don’t hurt you, but hello anything with the word shark it in sounds scary! Ok, back to my story. So, Seth jumps in and rides the waves and has a good old time and I enjoyed watching my stud swimming around.

We decided it was time to head back and get some lunch. When we arrive home Seth uses the bathroom and comes out laughing and says, “you won’t believe what was in my shorts!”. We took a picture so you all would believe us!

Don’t be fooled, your eyes are not playing tricks on you…there was a dead fish in his swim short. Which means it most likely was alive when it entered his shorts. And that my friends is why I DON’T SWIM IN THE OCEAN!

And because I can’t resist…here are a few more photos of our sweet little boy.

Beach Days

I just got back from a day of organizing….boy…it is going to take some getting used to going back to work.

We are back from the beach and can I just say we love the Outer Banks!

It was so wonderful to get away for a few days and just relax and not worry about work or checking emails, answering phones etc. We had a fabulous time! We celebrated our 4th year anniversary on August 15 with my whole family at a yummy Seafood place. (We also were celebrating my dad’s 61st birthday which is on August 18 and my parents 40TH ANNIVERSARY which is on August 19th. Can you believe that they have been married 40 YEARS!!!!) That was our only dinner out, all the other meals where done family style at the beach house. Everything from fresh fish from the market, steaks, grilled chicken, pasta salad and if you know my mom she stocked the fridge full and there were snacks stashed in every corner of the house. If you were the slightest bit hungry, anywhere you looked there was something to cure whatever it was you were craving or didn’t know you were craving.

Now for some beach pictures:
