NEWSFLASH PART II

ABEL SLEPT THROUGH THE NIGHT!!!

8pm-7am!!!

The angels in heaven are rejoicing and the hallelujah choir is signing!

PRAISE JESUS he FINALLY did it!!!

(I, however, did not sleep well because I, of course, was in shock and was checking on him every 2 hours to see if he was still breathing.)

NEWSFLASH: Abel is Rolling over

He can now roll over from his back to his tummy! This is huge! Everything must change now. I can’t just leave him on the bed for a quick trip to the bathroom, or leave him on the changing table while I pick out his outfit. Nope. Not any longer. He is a rolling machine. It just happened yesterday and sadly, I missed it. TWICE. I know, what kind of mother am I?

He was under his jungle gym that his adopted Aunt Chrissy bought for him (which thank you Chrissy, he loves it and it has saved my life many of times). He sits under it while I work on the computer. Well, yesterday as I was typing at the computer and he was playing under his jungle gym, I turned to look at him and he was completely off the gym and on his tummy. I was shocked! I put him back on his back and watched him for a few minutes. Nothing. So, I turned back around and continued working. When I turned around again to look at him sure enough he was on his tummy. I couldn’t believe I missed it again! But today was totally different. I finally saw him do it first thing this morning and you can bet every time I put him down he rolled over. I would then clap and get all excited and his whole body would shake.

I started writing this post at 8:30am and am finally finishing around 9:00pm. Why? Today, I got to see what it feels like to be a mother of two. My niece, Victoria (or as I like to call her-Queenie) came over all day. It was lots of fun having her here. She is a delight. Surprisingly, she is ALREADY walking at 10 months old and is brilliant. I know, I am biased, but seriously, she knows so much already. Abel was asleep when she got here, so when she finally saw him she got so excited. She loves her Abel and he loves her. I busted out the video camera because they were making each other laugh. It was too cute! But boy what a day. My day consisted of changing poops, putting them to sleep, feeding them, playing with them etc. (And thanks to Robin for bringing me lunch. That was wonderful and great seeing you.) Mothers of two or more children, I admire you greatly. That was tough work, but I must admit I love being a mom and aunt!

In Halloween news it’s right around the corner (as if you all didn’t know that). Every year, we end up (not on purpose) waiting till the last minute to figure out what we are going to be. Abel however has a few costumes to choose from thanks to friends and family. Seth and I are still in the early stages of figuring out what we are going to be.

Every year my church has an AMAZING Fall Festival. It is so much fun. If you are looking for a great place to go on Halloween where the kids will have lots of fun and get lots of candy. Come. ANYONE and EVERYONE is welcome.

(SIDE NOTE: If you happened to visit the church website YOU MUST check out the video that my WONDERFUL, AMAZING HUBBY did for our church’s building campaign called Shine the Light. Click on the Shine the Light logo, also designed by my lovely husband along with our AMAZING media/print team, and WATCH the video. Just look at my hubby’s talent. This was put together in the final days of my pregnancy. NO JOKE! It had to be finished for June 3 for our church’s major kick-off meeting. Needless to say, Seth finished that morning, dropped it off at church and took me to the hospital.)

Ok, that was way off the subject from Halloween, but you all need to see that video. Moving on…

Back to Halloween. We dress up every year. I love dressing up! My whole family gets into it. I decided to dig up a few photos from years past. Enjoy!

This was the first year Seth and I attended our church’s Fall Festival. We had only been dating a few month and my nephew, who was 2 at the time, convinced us to be Bob the Builder and his girlfriend, Wendy.

The next year, I was some random renaissance princess and Seth had “security” duty outside so he didn’t dress up.

halloween2004

The following year was my all time favorite of Seth’s because people didn’t even recognize him…can you guess who he is? (and yes, that is his real facial hair)

You get the blog prize if you get it right.

halloween2005

Then in 2005 we decided to be a gypsy and a hobo.

halloween2006

And last year we sadly missed it because I was really sick due to Abel. awww

So, I am so excited for this year!

Off to watch the game.

GO SOX!!!!!

Adapting to being a working mom

My business has been back in full swing for awhile now and I am trying to learn how to juggle being a working mom and wife. Thankfully, I am only now working part time. I don’t know how you full time moms do it. I TRULY ADMIRE you! You are amazing! I feel so blessed that I get to stay home some days and be with my precious baby. And I feel even more blessed that my mother is his babysitter on the days that I have to work. I know she loves him as much as I do and will take care of him they way I would. Plus, she always tells me everything he has done that day with such excitement. I wouldn’t get that at a daycare, so for that I am truly grateful.

All my clients and women’s groups that I have spoke to on organization always told me they couldn’t wait till I have children to see how organized I would still be. Now, I totally understand what they meant. I’m still organized, but it is a different kind of organized. A new organize that I have to adjust to my new lifestyle. Everything may not always look the way I would want it to look, but I have to remind myself that this is my new life and my focus is on being a good mother and wife. So, some days the floor may be messy and the laundry may be overflowing, but I have to remind myself that it will get done someday if not today. I can’t stress about everything. This is a daily struggle for me. Just ask my husband. If something is not in its place, it will drive me crazy. I wish I wasn’t like that, but that is just who I am. I am learning to accept that some days the house won’t always be to my liking, but as long as everyone in my house is taken care of and well fed (and if Abel takes his naps), then that is a good day. :)
