Abel knows just the right time when to interrupt me. He starts to cry or need me the second I sit down to eat. It always happens. Breakfast, lunch or dinner. Doesn’t matter which meal-he usually interrupts them all. How does he know when I am just about to eat? I always think, “ok, not this time b/c he is being so good and I can finally eat”. Nope.
Then yesterday, I was so excited. I had just put him down for a nap and I thought, “Oh, I have at least 45 minutes.” I’m going to make some hot chocolate and get some gift wrapping done. The tea pot started screaming and I was getting really excited as I was stirring in my hot chocolate. It seemed like the perfect few minutes to really focus on the season and enjoy a few minutes to myself. NO SUCH LUCK! Just as I was picking up the hot chocolate to take my first yummy sip…guess who starts screaming bloody murder. I thought, “No, it is too early, it has only been 20 minutes.” And 20 minutes in my book is NOT consider a nap. I thought for sure he would put himself back to sleep. Nope. Finally, after mircowaving my hot chocolate for the second time (it just doesn’t taste the same when it is from the microwave), I put Abel in his new favorite seat-the Johnny jumper seat-and finally got to do “a little” wrapping while being watched by my little man.
I forgot to post these pictures earlier. They are too funny and I thought you all would enjoy them. They were taken a few weeks ago, but we always get a kick out of Abel when he eats.
He really isn’t backing away from the food (although that is what it looks like), he was trying to get out of the bumbo seat. He isn’t a fan of it. Now I know why it was recalled. He can pop right out of it.
Look how happy he is to get his sweet potatoes. Bring them on, mom!
First time trying green beans didn’t go over too well. He liked them the next time he tried it, but every time we give him a new food, this is usually his facial expression.
Gross mom. Will you get those nasty green things out of my face!
When he doesn’t like a new food, he doesn’t swallow it and so it just hangs out in his mouth. He also will gag and try to cough it out.

I am in shock about how they figure the baby stats (50% in weight, etc). That system is old, limited, and I would guess, inaccurate. I agree–update!!

Dear Julie,
Do you think God puts into this new babies to always want attention when breakfast/lunch/dinner times comes along???? Well, maybe it is a good diet plan and we just haven’t figured that out yet?????? But it is so true…..And also wait until he is running around…..Every time the phone rings he will just want to be the most eager to get mischievous. They know how to try to be in control at a very early age.
Thank you for Christmas card and pictures. Very sweet! Can’t wait to see you all. Love, kisses and hugs……

I spy lots of Josh’s old clothes and bibs. It brings back great memories. Josh was wearing the white tommy shirt when he was 14 months:) Abel- I love you so much. He was so cute in the mall today. He ate his toes the whole time!
