The week is flying by and I realized that I haven’t posted in a few days. It’s late and I should probably be getting ready for bed since I have to speak BRIGHT and EARLY for a women’s group tomorrow about…you guess it…ORGANIZATION. Buuuttttt….I’m sitting at my computer instead typing away.
Abel gave me my Valentine’s day gift early. This week he has been napping better (PRAISE JESUS!!!). My mom claims if he does it for 3 days straight then it becomes a habit. Today was day four, so I’m thinking we have a habit. Oh, please dear Lord. A few weeks ago he decided he didn’t want me to rock him before his naps. So I said, “Ok, fine put yourself to sleep” and he shocked me when he actually did. It is such a blessing. We just walk into his room, I place him in his crib and he puts himself to sleep. Amazing! Thank you, God.
This afternoon when I dropped him off at my mom’s house he clearly said, “Hi dada!”. Of course, dada was not around to experience this GRAND event. But, his other loyal fans (me and my mom) got so excited we started clapping. Well, he got so excited with us and started clapping too. WOW!!! Two new tricks in one day! I was just hoping he would actually say it for Seth. Sure enough, daddy Seth got his Valentine’s day gift from Abel too. He said “Hi dada” to Seth. What a treat! Which reminds me, last Valentine’s day was the first time dada Seth felt Abel kick in my womb. Aww…
It was a good love day over here at the Nickerson house. I’m starting to ramble now so I really better get myself to bed so I can speak clearly tomorrow.
What’s that you say, you’re thinking about crawling?
So are you saying it is hard to move your 20lb body?
Oh, I see you just get distracted by the captivating carpet.
No worries, baby, take your time. Just buys us more time without having to deal with those annoying gates.

I love that I can see Seth and you in him! Our child is the spitting image of my dad. Weird, I know.

ADORABLE!!!! That first picture is priceless. Don’t worry, it took Chloe awhile to get the crawling and rolling over thing and then she just took off. We know all about having big hefty children. It is definitely harder for them to get up and moving. Yes, be thankful you don’t have to worry about baby gates and chasing them all over, life seems to get really crazy once they are mobile.

Julie,
Abel’s pictures are so absolutely beautiful! I know he’ll be smart like his mommy and daddy. Isn’t it incrediable to watch him grow/change/mature daily? I am happy he is napping. He needs his rest and so does mommy. Aloha to Seth, Abel and you too.
