Abel’s 15 seconds of fame!

Abel and I were innocently taking our walk around our little neighborhood with my dear neighbor Jen, and her two kids. All the sudden we see a Channel 4 News van driving around. We both looked at each other and said, “what the heck is a news van doing in our little community?” Being concerned residents, we felt like it was our duty to be the nosy neighbors since everyone else was at work. We turned around and started chugging as fast as we could with 3 kids (not that fast at all when you have 2 strollers, one being a double stroller). We quickly lost the van and thought we were never going to know why they were in our neighborhood, but the van did a lap around the circle and found us. Pat Collins from News 4 asked us if we had heard what happened at our neighborhood park last Saturday. Jen and I had no idea. “What Pat, tell us.” It was definitely disturbing and not what I wanted to hear especially in my neighborhood.

Watch us on TV. (We are towards the end.) I had to try really hard not to laugh since all Abel wanted to do was grab the mic.

In other news, if you were ever wondering what Abel would look like behind bars…he still looks adorable!

I was in VERY LONG labor with Abel. Let’s not even talk about how I had to push for almost 5 HOURS!!! Let’s just rejoice at the beautiful life God so graciously blessed us with. (And of course, if I had to…I would HANDS DOWN do it ALL over again for him.)

What is crazy to me is that he was in my womb for as long as he has been outside my womb. Those 9 months felt SO MUCH longer when he was inside me. I like him outside of me SO MUCH better. :)

Happy 9 months SWEET BOY!

So, we “tried” to do a little photo shoot on Sunday since we were in our church clothes, but because Sundays are a bad day for Abel it didn’t really happened. This is probably the best photo we got together. He is trying to smile, but he just couldn’t manage to get it out. 20080302_065

Most of the time he was doing something along these lines…

Check out the EXTREMELY long hang nail that is hanging off his thumb in this photo. (Guilty: ok, so I am not the greatest nail clipper mom.)

All he really wanted to do was eat the remote. Sweet Abel, who knows how many germs are festering on that thing.

You can’t really tell from this photo, but he can now stand by himself while holding onto something.

And such a classic Allister photo. Abel ADORES the cat. He actually blows kisses at Allister…and only blows kisses at the cat! This picture shows Allister’s true feelings about Abel.

Let’s all go to the Circus!

20080227_003

That’s right. We are going to the circus! It may be a few years, but we got a FREE ticket for Abel that never expires. You can get one too…that is if you have had a baby and register your baby’s name before your little one reaches their 1st birthday. I have no idea how daddy Seth found this out, but if you register online at Ringling Brother’s website and as long as your baby isn’t one year yet, you get a free ticket. Hurry, go get your ticket and take your child to the GREATEST SHOW ON EARTH!

It even comes with their name on it.

In other news…check out this stud who likes to eat…I mean, read books.

His new thing is taking down all the books from his book shelf and chewing/reading them.

“Abel, is that cardboard in your mouth? Don’t look so obvious.”

Little Model

His favorite “truck” book. He learned to say “t” when Seth read him this book.

Let’s all go read a book today…
