I feel spoiled! Abel and I have been living at the pool ever since it opened a few weeks ago. He was a little suspicious at first, but now he loves it and especially if there are lots of children playing in the pool. I think he may have got a little heat rash (not chicken pox for all my church friends whose children were around Abel.) I thought at first it was chicken pox, but after talking to a nurse and some moms they think it is just a heat rash.

Abel’s friend Olivia come to swim and play with us the other week. Of course, Tara (Olivia’s mom) and I couldn’t resist talking their pictures in their cute swim suits and hats. These were taken with our cheap-o little camera so they aren’t the greatest, I wouldn’t DARE take our Cannon babies to the pool. Not to mention daddy Seth would probably disown us if we ever got it wet.

“So, I was wondering if you’re not doing anything and I’m not doing anything, we could maybe go for a swim?”

“Don’t even think about touching my hat!”

Abel was obsessed with his medicine syringe that day. He wouldn’t let me take it from him.

Olivia jumped right in.

Abel was not a fan of the floaty, so he preferred to just watch Olivia swim.

If you don’t know my dad, he is a bit over the top with safety. We call him Safety Officer Al. He is always telling us to be careful or watch out for that or don’t do that….yada, yada, yada (Love you daddy). He, of course, is even more cautious with his grandchildren. Concerned about Abel playing in the water, he picked him up a rather interesting floaty swim suit. I don’t really know what it is called. I wasn’t so sure about it, but I thought I would give it a shot since it really would keep him afloat. It obviously isn’t something the cool kids would wear, but safety first.

Things were ok at first.

He was trying to figure it out. This pictures cracks me up.

“Mom, a little help over here.”

Then he started getting annoyed since he couldn’t really move.

I actually couldn’t stop laughing because he could barely walk in it. It was great entertainment.

Things quickly went downhill fast, but not without snapping a few photos first.

Needless to stay, I told my dad it didn’t look like the floaty swim suit-whatever you call it-thing wasn’t going to work out this year. But there is always next summer.
