I’m happy to say Abel gave me a nice anniversary present and started calling me mommy instead of nanny! Nanny still comes out here and there, but mommy is making its way to my new name.

Seth and I had the most wonderful time at Berkeley Springs, WV. We probably did everything in that tiny town so a weekend is really the most you would probably want to stay there. I would highly recommend the B&B we stayed at, The Highlawn Inn. The place was adorable and so relaxing and the food was amazing! Seth’s family just came into town for a short visit, so I don’t have much time and will blog more later.

I do need you all to pray for Seth’s Aunt and Uncle, John and Linda Wilkerson. They lost their oldest son, Tyler,  in a terrible car accident on Friday night. Tyler was only 17 years old and the oldest of 8 children. He was one of the sweetest teenagers ever. You can read a memorial for him on his church’s website.

August 15th was the day I vowed to love Seth Michael Nickerson for the rest of my life.

Yep, that’s right. 5 WHOLE YEARS!!!

Seth and I are leaving Abel for the FIRST time to go on a short trip to Berkeley Springs, WV. I can’t believe I am leaving my little baby, but I know I need to get away with my big baby.

Happy Anniversary, Baby! I love you and can’t wait for our ROMANTIC WEEKEND get-a-way.

…was SUCH a POPULAR wedding date! Ask any photographer that you know and I am sure they shot a wedding on that day and I’m sure some of you even attended a wedding on 8/8/08.

Since Allison Morgan is on maternity leave she was gracious enough to let Seth and I take over her Fall weddings. We feel honored that she entrusted us with her clients and hope to make her and the couples very happy.

Seth and I have both photograph our fair share of weddings, but not with each other. We have worked together before (remember we used to shoot wedding videos), but it was a nice change to photograph a wedding together. We both have our own ideas for creative shots and I love how Seth is daring enough to try new things.

Here is a sneak peek at Adelaide and Anthony’s wedding. What a delightful couple! By the way, the Washington Club is an AMAZING place to have a wedding. If there are any brides out there who are looking to get married in the DC area, this place will not disappoint. We really need a photography blog….

If you hire us for your wedding, you may see me doing something like this. Ok, not really. But I had to do at least one silly shot. I was holding the spare flash so Seth could get some cool dance shots and I just had to put it on my head. You gotta know how to have fun when you are working, right?

If you ask for kisses from my little man, you may just get attacked. (This is his Auntie Ali so this is allowed.)

Occoquan, Va is very special to me. One of the reasons I love it so much is because over 5 1/2 years ago, Seth Michael proposed to me in Occoquan! If you don’t know the story, it is one of the BEST proposals EVER. I’ll save that for another day.

We live less than a mile from this adorable town. It’s a wholesome little town that has lots of shops, cafes, music and an added bonus…the Potomac River. Seth and I hope to have a boat one day since we live so close to the water and would love to take advantage of just docking our boat (am I using the right boat terminology? Shows how much I know about the boating world) and sailing to some of the local restaurants and shops off the Potomac River……someday……

The weather has been gorgeous lately so last Sunday we took a little family trip to Occoquan. We enjoyed feeding the ducks and listening to the live band playing. Abel’s favorite spot was the construction zone where they are building million dollar waterfront homes. Of course, we toured the model home acting like we could afford one.

If you are local I would recommend visiting this charming little town.

Abel was fascinated by the live music. He started dancing and soon attracted his own crowd.

Can I get just one picture with my son without him trying to jump out of my arms?
