My Carebear

If you know Carolyn Queck then just saying her name should bring a smile to your face.

Carolyn, Carebear as I like to call her, was one of the very first people I meet in college. She lived right down the hall from me. I had probably only been on campus one day and my bubbly self knew it was time to make friends. She walked passed me and I thought to myself, “we are going to be friends.”. I remembered how cute and sweet she looked and I decided it was time to meet her. I bounced myself down their in my booty shorts (long gone are those days) and introduced myself. From that moment on we were friends.

We lived together for three years and you know if we are still friends after that then we must get along. Carolyn now lives in Richmond, which is fabulous because she is now only a little less then 1.5 hours away. Seth, Abel and I had the pleasure of visiting her last month and I am just now getting these pictures up. July was a CRAZY month for us!

Abel was in awe of Carolyn and decided since she wasn’t napping neither was he. It was his first day without ANY NAPS and surprisingly he was the happiest guy. Carebear thinks I should stop making him nap. I disagree.

This one is blurry, but we would always take crazy photos like this back in the day. So we had to do a “remember the times” photo. Why is my mouth so big?

We ate at this restaurant and were greeted by the “tub bar”. Doesn’t look as yummy when lettuce is in a tub!

If you can’t figure this out, it is our shadows in the puddle.

Now for mommy & Abel time.

Wow, we actually got a few pictures together…very shocking, since he always runs from me when I want a picture with him.

Carolyn was making him die laughing.

Look who came EARLY!

Meet ISAAC ROSS MORGAN.

20080802_0080

Our dear friends, Allison & Chad become parents on August 1st. At just 34 weeks, this little guy decided to come early, weighing in at 5lbs 3oz and 18in long and looking gorgeous!

It has been an exciting and busy weekend for us. It started on Wednesday afternoon when Allison was admitted to Labor & Delivery since baby Isaac wasn’t really moving around much in the womb. Thankfully, his momma knew something was wrong and headed to the doctors.  The Docs decided it was best for Issac to enter this world now then to take any chances.

The crazy thing was that Ally’s baby shower was supposed to be on Saturday, August 2. All our girlfriends and her family were coming into town to celebrate for her shower….INSTEAD we were celebrating Isaac’s birth! So what did we do….we still had the shower!!! Her DEAR friend Lanier set up a web cam from Ally’s hospital room and Ally was able to join us at HER SHOWER via web cam!!!  I’m sure all the guests have never been to a shower like that before. Thanks Lanier for making everyone feel so welcome at the shower. You are a rockin’ hostess!

Lanier actually did these posters before she knew Ally wouldn’t be able to attend her own shower. They were the perfect touch.

The yummy cake. (don’t worry there was PLENTY leftover for Ally & Chad.)

Chatting with her guests as if she was there in person.

The favors were a 3D sonogram of Isaac!

Everyone still had a blast at the shower.

Then afterwards, a few of her close girlfriends took the shower to her at the hospital. I’m sure the nurses thought we were crazy. We busted through the hospital doors with TONS of gifts, cake, food, flowers and large posters of Allison. It wasn’t what Allison (or any of us) were planning for her shower day, but when life throws you a lemon….don’t they say make lemonade. We actually had a blast celebrating with her at the hospital. I know she was exhausted and in pain, but she was a trooper (as always) and partied away in her little hospital bed.

Please pray that Isaac will not have to stay in the NICU for long. He only had to be on a breathing tube for one day! He was a big baby for 34 weeks, but his little lungs were a little underdeveloped for his age. He seems to be going strong and looking like a perfect angel. Enjoy some of his first (of many) photos. (I couldn’t use flash in the NICU and he was in his little incubator so this is the best I could get.)
