for Seth to come home! He left for a business trip early this week and we don’t do well without him. Thankfully, he doesn’t have to travel too often. I know, I am spoiled but I’m so grateful!

Abel has been calling “daddy” and running to our bedroom to see if he is in there. awww!

I don’t think the MAC computer is happy that he left either. It has done some weird things to me this week while I have been trying to work. I panicked and thought I wasn’t going to be able to work this week because it was just showing a BLACK SCREEN! But thankfully, Seth guided me on the phone what to do.

We need you back, SETH!

Would you believe I haven’t taken any pictures of Abel for at LEAST 2 WEEKS! Who am I?

This weekend was TOUGH!!! Not only was it packed with photographing a company’s headshots and a wedding, but I had one sick baby. Turns out there is a reason for his no napping…it is called MOLARS!!! (Why does teething have to be so bad!!!) Diarrhea (due to teething) and sleepless nights, add some carpel tunnel pain, makes for one unhappy momma!

It seems like whenever I have to shoot a wedding the next day (or something major) Abel decides to stay up the night before, leaving me exhausted and grumpy. However, I pulled through, thanks to the help of my adoring husband and thankfully we made it through another crazy weekend.

I still can’t believe I get paid to do what I love! Here are some of the things I have been doing this month.

When I was photographing this cutie pie, he leaned over and gave me a big, fat kiss on the lips. I melted right there.

This gorgeous 2 year old makes the best faces!

I decided I needed to wear my “gear” when I shoot weddings. I hesitated because I don’t want people feeling bad for me and asking what is wrong, but my carpel tunnel has been killing me and the last few weddings I have been in pain for weeks afterwards. So here I was this past Saturday taking a break next to the peach wall during the crazy dancing. Lovely, I know…really brings out my sausage fingers.

Back to work!

My little boy is growing up faster than I would like. He has decided he is too cool for naps these days and hasn’t really been taking any. He also thinks it is cool to wake up at 5:30am!!!! Thankfully, I have one of the happiest kids in the world. This helps ease the pain of no naps! My friends and family keep telling me he should be a grump with as little sleep as he gets, but he is so happy and FULL of energy. You would never know he doesn’t really nap. (Remember: he is only 15 months. Some babies his age still take 2 naps) I’m trying to accept that he really doesn’t need as much sleep as other kids his age, but it is hard when we go to playgroup and other moms tell me their children take 3 hour naps. OH, what I would give for him to take just ONE 3 hour nap!

You probably wont hear much from me till October. Our little photography business is in full swing (which is great) and add a child who doesn’t nap on top of that schedule…equals not much “Julie time”.

Even though I am exhausted most days (what mom isn’t, right?) I LOVE being Abel’s mom. We have so much fun together and I thank the Lord each day that I can stay home with him and enjoy these sweet moments with him…even if he doesn’t nap.

I will leave you with a picture that makes my heart smile. Abel loves cereal (just like his dad) and enjoys reading the newspaper (just like his dad) as long as there a cars on the pages. I look at this picture and see his father. Right now, the only things I see that he has of his dad’s are his pinky toes, squinty eyed smile and a cover hog.

More of my VERY happy guy! His favorite food is a PEACH! He can even say the word peach! (fyi-Abel is such a Chatty Cathy and can say a TON of words!)

He looks at the camera and says “cheese”. We did not teach him this…he was born a HAM!!!

Yes, I caught you stuffing your face!

Last week Seth was on my case about not practicing enough with the zoom lens we rented for last week’s wedding. We were getting ready to ship it back and Seth ask if I would take some shots of Abel with it before we returned it. I hemmed and hawed that morning saying I would be too busy to get it out, but I would try.

Seth was the one who took charge of it during the wedding and to be honest, it was extremely heavy and once the wedding was over it was hard to try and get that beast lens out and take a picture of Abel.

Seth went off to work and Abel and I had our fun morning time together. We chase each other and read books in his room. He happened to see his new shoes in his closet. (He has a slight obsession with shoes and loves to wear them and tries to put them on his feet. (It is actually fun taking him shoe shopping!) That particular morning he asked to wear his new black shoes (well, new to him. They were his cousin’s old shoes.) To give me a good laugh, I decided what better to wear with his dressy church shoes then his old man socks.

This was the perfect opportunity to take that “must have” photo with the zoom lens.

There ya have it daddy Seth. Mission accomplished!

I was having so much fun and when I wasn’t dying laughing at him, I was able to capture a few more of my morning stud in his pjs and church shoes. (warning: I am being brave to post these seeing that you can see just how dirty my glass door is! How embarrassing!) Wonder why it is so dirty?

He loves to put his finger down that door crack every morning. (I realize saying crack and posting this picture with it, doesn’t sound so good) but just look at that cute back side!

He is so proper when he eats! ha!
