Coupon Queen

You can just call me that. :)

I’ve always been a coupon cutter type of girl, but lately I have step up my coupon craziness and am saving us so much money! Thank God for coupons because times are tough right now. I get on such a high when I save money. Some people think it is too much work, but I like to think of it as a game. “How much can I save this week” is the question I ask myself on Sat. when the newspaper shows up at our door stuffed with deal saving coupons. Some of you know the excitement I am talking about when the coupons come out every week. I can’t wait to see what’s inside.

I’m also lucky because my sister and a good friend are just as crazy about savings as I am, and we all tell each other deals that we find out that week at whatever stores so we make sure we don’t miss a steal.

I just got back from the grocery store and am on a high because I just saved $25 and only spent $40!!! The store I was at was having TRIPLE your coupon weekend! I came back so excited to show Seth all the yummy goodies we got for so cheap!

Thank God for coupons! Hopefully, this post has peaked the interest of those who think coupons are too much work. Honestly, it doesn’t take me that much time to cut the coupons and figure out what I need for the week. I look at it as my job. I am saving us money and therefore making us money.

I’ve got to go watch my boys (Red Sox) beat the Rays.

My Disheveled Pirate

My party planner sister, Kate, threw a Halloween party yesterday and of course you had to come in costume.
My disheveled pirate

Let me explain this photo.
1) Abel was just awoken from a 3 hour nap!!! Which explains the grumpy face. My son doesn’t take 3 hour naps, but tell him we are going to a party when he wakes up and he doesn’t want to get up. (This isn’t the first time he has slept threw a party!)
2) He hates his costume. (This is his 3rd costume for this Halloween…and he hates them all! I need to work on his sleeves before Halloween. When I put the pirate shirt on him he freaked out about the elastic around his wrist so in a desperate attempt to make a costume work, I cut the elastic.)

With his favorite girl, Tia! (aka. Tia is what Victoria started calling herself, so now she is Tia)

As soon as I took this last photo, he threw the hat off and became his wild self playing in the dirt and running around.

Until my next post….Happy Fall!

Thrill Seeker

As always, we took a TON of photos while in Boston.

I’m finally feeling like we are getting back to our routine since arriving back from Boston. Well, “routine” is relative, being that Abel changes his so called “routine” every few days. He likes to keep me on my toes. That Abel=full of personality. This morning when I picked him up from the church nursery, I was told again by the nursery workers that he was “high energy”. Other comments from the lovely church nursery workers are “wild, active and what kind of vitamins do you give him?” Yep, that’s my boy! He will be that guy telling a joke as he jumps out of an airplane.

For instance, let’s take a look at this photo…Abel (and my father in law) are having the time of their lives.

See that look…Abel gives me that same look when he is plunging down the slide head first or driving his big wheel down a hill going super fast or jumping off the couch. Anything risky, Abel is all about it. Don’t get me wrong, his dare devil spirit has already given me MANY mini panic attacks. I’m fearful as to what stunts he will pull when he is older…

Here was Abel making his own “maze” at the pumpkin patch.

My adorable brother in-law selling homemade jam and spices at the local Farmer’s Market. He sold a lot too! The old ladies couldn’t resist his cute smile and clever selling tactics. That Nate, he was born a salesman.

And last…his GORGEOUS profile!

warning: as always this post has a ton of photos.

We had so much fun this year apple picking with Abel! He was running around chomping on apples and it was hilarious to watch him.

Oh my goodness, I love this picture! Proof that Abel would just run up to a tree, take a bit and run away!

I’m not lying when I say Abel ate 10+ apples.
