How August helped Abel

Even though our precious baby August was only with us briefly, he/she sure taught us a lot about life (I’ll expand on this in a later post).

August even helped Abel. I’m sure you are wondering how. Well, when I was pregnant with August I craved chocolate milk ALL DAY LONG! Mind you, I don’t like milk. I never drink it! But for some reason I couldn’t get chocolate milk off my mind and I started drinking it all the time.

One day, Abel ask for a drink of my chocolate milk. I really didn’t want to give him chocolate milk and get him started on a bad habit, but then I had this “idea”. Maybe if I told him that he can only drink chocolate milk from a sippy cup, then I could ween him off the bottle.

Sure enough, he thought that idea was great and immediately fell in love with chocolate milk. (I mean, what kid wouldn’t?) This was about a month ago and he hasn’t had a bottle since. The first 24 hours without the bottle was brutal, but honestly after that it was easy. I let him drink chocolate milk in the morning, but after that he just drinks plain milk and anything else all in the sippy cup!

Thank you God and thank you August!

Now for some Abel funnies…here he is praying for his food & cars. Too bad his mouth was stuffed with food because it makes it hard to understand him, but it is oh so cute!

And this is to show you how our son (aka monkey) never sits still. Even when he eats he is constantly moving.

Snow Days!

We love snow days! We FINALLY got our first snow fall in Woodbridge, VA. I thought we better take advantage of the fresh snow so I bundled up Abel and off we went.

All was well for about 5 minutes.

The happiness only lasted about 5 minutes

We met up with his best bud, Owen.

Owen-not sure what to think of the snow.

Of course we had to bring the tractors outside.

Doing what they do best.

Then this happened.

He wouldn’t keep his gloves on and therefore when his hands got to “ice cold”, this would happen.

Once I got him settled down we ventured out again. I tried to tell him that those weren’t the most slimming pants.

Having fun again…

This picture is for you Papa. He always thinks of his Papa when we talk about snow, so of course we had to bring out Papa’s tractor and make “piles of snow.”

Another meltdown….

So much for playing in the snow. It was fun while it lasted.

Last night as we sat down to eat dinner, Seth prayed for our meal and thanked God for the snow. (My New England hubby was in need of some snow.) Abel loves to pray when he eats, so when Seth finished the prayer, Abel folded his hands again and said “Dear God, thank you for the snow. Amen!” AHHAAAHHH!!! so cute! He repeated it about five times. So then this morning at breakfast he said it again in his prayer. I think he now thinks it goes along with thanking God for his food. So precious!

Introducing…

Our new photography logo…

The New Nickerson Studios Logo

So my super cool hubby designed this masterpiece. Seriously, it is a masterpiece. He CREATED THAT FONT!!! You will not find that font ANYWHERE. It is ours! :) Now, what do you see when you look at that nice little design in the middle? Look closely…

I’m so proud of Seth for all his hard work that he put into this beauty of a logo.

Well, that is our new baby. Our website is still a work in progress so if you happened to check it out it is just a portfolio of our work. One day when we have more time it will be complete and I will be sure to let you know.

I’ll leave you with my two loves…

It’s been awhile…

Since I have posted pictures of my favorite little man.

Thank God I have this this boy in my life. What a JOY he is!

Seth will probably be mad I posted this photo because he is wearing his Steelers’ outfit. This was last Sunday when they were playing and since his Poppy is a HUGE fan of the Steelers and we weren’t leaving the house, I figured it was ok.  He LOVES “helping” Seth with his tools and when he saw daddy get out the ladder, he was there at the ladder in an instant.

This picture is blurry, but too cute! He always is running around with a BIG smile and sometimes a stick of cheese! (oh, and he has got a haircut since these photos. It was after I took this photo, that I realized I needed to cut his hair.)
