GIRL FEST 09 in NJ

It was SO NICE to get away and have some girl time with my “other family”. These ladies have been in my life for over 10 years and I am realizing that we will be together for life. (and that makes me so happy!) We have stuck it out (not like it has been hard) but I think we have something special.

It all started in college. We were separated one summer and one of us (now I don’t know who started it) had to tell us all something and instead of sending each of us an email, she sent it as one group email. And that was that! We still all “group email” almost every day! It has been a HUGE way of keeping in touch with all of us.

How many can say they have a solid set of girlfriends that all get along? (I know my Grandma in law-Tish does.) Seth’s Gram still gets together with her girlfriends and they party it up. I love looking at the pictures of their get togethers and hear her stories of how they played jokes on each other. I think to myself…that will be us…that is us. 10 years so far!

Thank God I was traveling with Allison or it would have been a really tough ride. We got stuck in TERRIBLE Delaware traffic, but low and behold we arrived at 2am and still partied it up with the other girls. I was so awake by that time and so excited to see them so I can’t even remember what time it was when we went to bed! I can’t remember the last time I stayed up that late…most likely it was with them the last time we got together.

So here are some pics of our GREAT WEEKEND together. I love you all so very much!

LOVE YOU GIRLS!!!

PS-My boys did fine without me! Although, after “we missed you”, Seth did say “please don’t do that again for a long time!” Not sure what a “long time” is, but they survived!

Thanks Shauna for popping in town on Friday and spending time with us before I left town!

Leaving the boys

I’m leaving my boys this weekend for my annual GIRL FEST weekend! Our dear friend Chrissy is GETTING married (in June) and it is her bridal shower this weekend. All the girls are heading to NJ to celebrate with her. It will be a blast and I’m sure I’ll come back exhausted because when I am with these girls we stay up all night.

It is the first time Seth will have Abel all weekend. I know they will be just fine, but it is hard for me to leave them. You should see my MILE LONG list and notes for Seth. So, I might be a bit of a control freak. I didn’t think I was, but maybe the organizer in me can’t help it. Abel adores his daddy and lately they have been spending lots of Saturdays together since I have been working on Sat. I need to just relax and know they will be having a ball together while I am away having girl time. (who knows what the house will look like when I get back!)

Remember these girls…

(woah…7+ months preggers in this photo!)

Just Life

Life’s been busy here. It seems like business comes in waves and right now the waves are high. Some weeks are slower and some weeks are crazy. Like just today I’ve had two clients ask if I could come yesterday (that was a joke) They just want me asap and it is hard arranging sitting and my schedule that fast!

I’m not complaining…really…l just wish I could even out the work, but that is life when running your own business(es).

I’ve been editing a lot lately and I came across some photos Seth took a few weeks ago. Nothing too exciting, but just shows a little bit of life in our house.

Abel is a little monkey (wild, full of energy and just a dirty little boy-he is refusing to bathe these days).

Here he is hanging upside down.  Seriously, he is doing this on his own. (You can see the terrible paint job I did on the chair.)

And there you have another little taste of the Nickerson News! Now back to work everybody, it is only Wednesday.

PS-I just found out I am getting another niece! yippee yay!

Alison & Graham’s E-Session

Local Carnivals are SO MUCH FUN to do an engagement session! Especially, when you are basically the only people there. This session was one of my favorites! Plus, the bride is my VERY OWN SISTER so, of course, we were delighted to be able to take their photos.

I happened to see the local carnival was coming to town and since we were scheduled to take their photos this past weekend, it worked out perfect.

It was a bit chilly, but we had fun anyway. It only took Ali and Graham a few minutes to warm up to the camera and then they got into it. I guess because of the cold weather, a lot of people stayed home so the place was pretty empty. The carnival workers thought we were from the local newspaper, but when I told them they were getting married in June and this was their engagement session, they let us play some games for free. I even got to stand behind the game booth and get some pictures…aren’t I lucky.

The newly engaged couple…totally in love…
