is how many hours of “free time” I get without my little man AND IT IS A BLESSING!
Don’t get me wrong, you know I adore my little guy, but every mom needs a break to run around and get some errands done without dragging around a screaming, cranky toddler who would rather be playing. (can I get a “wha-what!”)
God has placed such great neighbors in my life. Seriously, I LOVE my community! I feel like it is the true sense of “love your neighbor”. I love just walking outside my house hearing “Hi Julie!” My neighbors are so friendly and helpful. If you need a favor, some extra help, you just have to ask one of our neighbors and they are right there. (anybody remember the raccoon story-great neighbors!)
So this Summer I met Lauren and Heather. I met Lauren at the neighborhood pool. She is a sweetheart and has a very smart toddler named Sophie. I met Heather when I saw her strolling her son and yelled from across the street that I wanted to meet her b/c she had a son my age. (You all know her little guy, Owen.)
One day Heather had this great idea that we should all watch the kids for each other to give the other moms a few free hours. We all were totally on board and it has been SUCH A LIFESAVER!!! Every young mom should find another young mom to do this with. We each have an assigned day for 2 hours with all three toddlers and then we each get 2 free days of 2 hours each. The kids love it and the moms get so much done. (Plus, Abel has a crushed on Lauren so he loves when it is Miss Lauren’s day.)
My day with the kids is Friday. I have to tell you we have so much fun together. I love these kids. One of their favorite activities is putting all three of them in the crib and jumping around like crazy. They think it is hilarious. And to get my workout in, I do jumping jacks in front of them. We all die laughing and burn lots of calories.
They also know my place is where they watch “The Letter Factory”. Here are the precious kiddos having some down time.

Every Tuesday night we have Owen for about an hour and we have to read the “famous train” book every time.

Go out and find a mommy buddy! Thanks Lauren & Heather!!!
