Time Alone!

I realized I didn’t post any pics from our get-a-way to the Berkshires, but quite honestly there wasn’t anything of great excitement to show you.

Everything pretty much looked like this.

I do like this one.

I’m sure it is breathtaking in the Fall.

Nothing blooms up there till May, so most things were still closed. The Berkshires popular time is Summer/Fall/Winter….not SPRING. So if you want a great deal and great service, go in the Spring.

No WONDER it was still ghost town there. Seriously, every time we went out to eat we were the ONLY people in the restaurant…I am NOT kidding! It was kinda nice, but kinda weird. But I will say we got FIRST CLASS SERVICE!

Since not much was open, Seth took me on lots of hikes. I was feeling pretty good at first…

THEN this is what happens when you take me on one too many hikes….

Sorry, to disappoint, but we didn’t get many pics…here is kind of a neat one. We were window shopping.

20090416_0034

Excited we were on our own! (We were using our tripod.) Not the best quality, but it is still a fun one!

And a strange building we came upon.

Welp, that is it. Told you it was nothing exciting, but we had a blast just being together and having some alone time….oh, and quiet dinners. Those are few and far between with a toddler!

Firestation! Woohoo!

It doesn’t get much better than the firestation if you are a little boy!

We had the pleasure of going to the firestation this past weekend. Our neighbor is a Fireman (Thanks Dennis) and we have been talking for a long time about taking all the toddlers up to the firestation. We finally made it!

Here are all the toddlers. I can’t believe we got them to stay still for a picture. I think they were in awe of the firetruck.

I couldn’t get Owen to stop picking his nose and I love the face Sophie is making at him.

love this one!

Look how big he looks!

Owen was having a blast!

We had some fighting over who was going to drive the ambulance, but we got it worked out…

This is Chris…his daddy is the fireman.

You all should know this is Lauren (Abel’s first REAL crush!) Ever since he met her last summer, he has been in love. :) He always wants Lauren to hold him and grabs her hand as soon as he sees her.

Sophie, Lauren’s little girl.

20090425_0049

I’m pretty sure when the firefighters got in the firetruck they were wondering what happened to it. I think the kids tore it up!

Abel wanted no part of the firefigther…as seen in this photo.

It’s time for the Percolator

Does anyone remember that song? I don’t even know any other words to the song then that.

Anyway, this past Monday I was so ready for a nice cup of hot coffee! After our long drive back from MA the night before, plus being up most of the night due to my dearest friend Lindsay having her BABY BOY-TYLER BERKELEY 5 weeks early on April 19!!! (more details on that coming soon) I was more then ready to embrace my two cups of coffee that I so desperately needed.

However, it decided to DIE on THAT VERY MORNING! GASSSSPPPP!!! I wanted to throw myself on the floor and do an Abel temper tantrum! (I actually might have. I don’t remember that morning very well.) It has slowly been failing us as a coffee maker so we knew it was only a matter of time it would kick the bucket, but not on that day. Mondays of all days!

Seth, being the great researches that he is, said to give him a little time and he would find a better coffee maker. He also said, “hun, don’t we have that old one in the basement? We can just use that for now.” (Me) “Ummmmm, maybeeee.” All while knowing I don’t keep ANY SPARES of anything. Hello, my famous organizing motto is: “When you get something new, something old must go!” aka…new coffee maker….old one gets the boot asap!

By Monday afternoon Seth sent me a link for a percolator????? Um, my grandma used that like 60 years ago! I was about to not even read the reviews, but then something about the shinny pot caught my eye. Within minutes I was sold. Seth ordered it and the percolator showed up on our door step Tuesday night. We immediately ripped the box opened and enjoyed our first cup of perked coffee.

(as you can see it has been used already….) If I would have cleaned it up a bit, it would have presented itself a little better.

I’m in love with my new perker! If you are ready to boot the drip coffee and go for the goods…check it out here.

Meanwhile, the old coffee pot made these two VERY happy.

20090421_0007

No worries, they are drinking watered down apple juice. I really am a good mom!

By the way, Abel’s shirt reads “Catch of the Day!” yummy! He is my “catch of the day” every morning!
