Does anyone remember that song? I don’t even know any other words to the song then that.
Anyway, this past Monday I was so ready for a nice cup of hot coffee! After our long drive back from MA the night before, plus being up most of the night due to my dearest friend Lindsay having her BABY BOY-TYLER BERKELEY 5 weeks early on April 19!!! (more details on that coming soon) I was more then ready to embrace my two cups of coffee that I so desperately needed.
However, it decided to DIE on THAT VERY MORNING! GASSSSPPPP!!! I wanted to throw myself on the floor and do an Abel temper tantrum! (I actually might have. I don’t remember that morning very well.) It has slowly been failing us as a coffee maker so we knew it was only a matter of time it would kick the bucket, but not on that day. Mondays of all days!
Seth, being the great researches that he is, said to give him a little time and he would find a better coffee maker. He also said, “hun, don’t we have that old one in the basement? We can just use that for now.” (Me) “Ummmmm, maybeeee.” All while knowing I don’t keep ANY SPARES of anything. Hello, my famous organizing motto is: “When you get something new, something old must go!” aka…new coffee maker….old one gets the boot asap!
By Monday afternoon Seth sent me a link for a percolator????? Um, my grandma used that like 60 years ago! I was about to not even read the reviews, but then something about the shinny pot caught my eye. Within minutes I was sold. Seth ordered it and the percolator showed up on our door step Tuesday night. We immediately ripped the box opened and enjoyed our first cup of perked coffee.
(as you can see it has been used already….) If I would have cleaned it up a bit, it would have presented itself a little better.
I’m in love with my new perker! If you are ready to boot the drip coffee and go for the goods…check it out here.
Meanwhile, the old coffee pot made these two VERY happy.
No worries, they are drinking watered down apple juice. I really am a good mom!
By the way, Abel’s shirt reads “Catch of the Day!” yummy! He is my “catch of the day” every morning!

Hi Julie,
Every time we go to visit Karen in Ohio we enjoy the most delicious percolator coffee. She received it for a gift 20 years ago. Cute story! We do need that cup of java……Loved the pictures of the boys….They are so adorable drinking their watered down apple juice….Helps get plenty of liquids in to them and just fill up on sweet apple juice. You’re a great Mom….Love, Tish

I’m not a huge coffee drinker but I can imagine your frustration when you get something on your mind that you’ve got to have. I’m glad you found a good replacement. The pics are awesome. The last one of Abel made me laugh. He’s pretty focused on that straw.

Funny thing that this post is about coffee. I just had the WORST watered down, tasteless cup of coffee, courtesy of the office kitchen (sorry but being the “coffee snob” that I am, my “Starbucks-trained/gourmet coffee pallette is much too sophisticated for the bulk-size “Folgers Crystals” that our Admin. brings in. Haha! And no offense to any Folgers lovers out there
. Your new percolater is adorable, and deserves a “coffee dance” so here’s the link to the percolator song, because yes, I sooo remember that song-and those are the only words to the song, I think, so you are right:)http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_UlhLd76IzQ. Just don’t dance to it while holding your freshly percolated hot cup of coffee-that could hurt! Oh, and congrats to Lindsey and her new baby boy. So cute that she used “Berkley” (like you were saying was an option, Jules). “Berkleigh” is still on my list of baby names for this baby girl.
