Happy 2nd Birthday, Abel!

Happy Birthday, Abel!

Happy Birthday, Abel!

On June 4, 2007 the BEST gift entered our hearts & our lives.

Carrying & birthing Abel was by far the hardest thing I have EVER done in my life. (Pregnancy did NOT come easy for me!)

I always tell people I knew Abel’s personality while he was still in the womb. I felt him very early in my pregnancy and his kicks became VERY painful around 24+ weeks. He was so active in the womb, that we joked he was going to be wild when he came out. Well, that was NO JOKE! He is WILD and full of personality…that is for sure.

Cutest Baby Ever-Abel Anthony

Abel has taught me so much in his short life. I always wanted to be a mother and Abel has allowed me to live that dream. I will cherish those precious moments of when he grabs my face and gives me a wet kiss or when he gives me a big bear hug that knocks me to the floor or how he MUST get me to kiss every hurt knee or elbow.

This time is so special and even though we are facing some REALLY tough times with him (the terrible twos are just what they mean-TERRIBLE!) I wouldn’t trade him for the world.

Enough sappy talk.

Since I’m not too great at recording milestones in his baby book, this blog saves me in that respect. If he really cares when he is older then he can go back and read my old posts.

Showing you he is two!

This guy is two and knows it!

Here is what our little two year old wild monkey is up to these days:

-Talks in sentences
-One of his favorites things to say is “that’s funny”. (We realized early on in his life that he is a HAM and finds the humor in everything.)
-Knows the entire alphabet and can recognize all the letters. (Thanks Letter Factory!)
-Can count to 20
-Has a really good arm. He throws everything (which also gets him in LOTS of trouble). He better be a baseball pitcher with how much he throws.
-Can spell his name. (not write it down, just say the letters)
-Knows around 6 colors
-Knows around 6-8 shapes
-Know his manners. He says, “Thank you”, “Please”, “You’re welcome”, “Bless you” & “Excuse me”.
-About 6 months ago, Abel became the BIGGEST cuddle bug! This makes me EXTREMELY happy!
-LOVES to laugh. Thank God!

I’m sure there is a lot more, but I don’t want to bore you.

Oh, and he just learned how to hold up two fingers!
This guy is two and knows it!

My new ride

Meet my brand new 09 Toyota Rav 4! I’m in love…

Julie's new ride

After a VERY grueling weekend at the local dealerships and walking away twice from this beauty, I FINALLY have a new car!!! I honestly HATE the whole car buying process. We would have rather bought from Carmax (‘the way car buying should be’-ain’t that the truth), but Carmax didn’t have want I wanted.

I’m not a picky girl AT ALL when it comes to cars. Let’s face it, I have been driving around a clunker (one that did save my life, though) for years and it was literally on its last leg. We knew we needed something bigger, but I wasn’t ready for a minivan and I didn’t want a huge SUV. I did however want something that had HUGE cargo space and that could seat 7 people if needed.

The new Rav 4 got 2 feet longer and just a “few” (which is why it was so hard to find) have the optional 3rd row seating. Lo and behold, God allowed us to meet Bryant (a fellow Christian and one of the sweetest people you will ever meet) and we are now the proud owners of this car.

It drives like a dream! I called Seth up this morning and told him how great it drove and he responded “Well, it should, we paid a lot of money for it!” HA! I think I am just so used to loud, rough, old cars. I have NEVER drove a new car. Being the baby of the family, I always got the leftovers and that was fine with me. I was just happy to have a car. And I was thrilled when Seth handed me over the Forester when he got his new civic.

But now I might be spoiled.

Seth was so great in handling the whole process at the dealership and they told him he was their toughest sale. Can you believe that? Sweet, calm Seth! (He has a bit of a stubborn side that most people will never see.) Like, I said earlier, we walked away twice, once while signing the papers for it!

And in other news, this guy is turning TWO THIS WEEK!!!! Expect a sappy post in the near future.

side note: you would NEVER know from this picture, but on that particular day he was a hellian. Yes, I just called my son that. (I’m sure his grandparents would NEVER believe how bad this boy can be!)
