.my cuties.

I don’t think I ever posted the rest of these images of my “mini” photo session (and by mini I mean it lasted maybe 5 minutes)  of my kids. I am so THANKFUL for these precious kids! I love watching their relationship grow. I never imagined they would already have such an amazing relationship. I pray all the time that they are always close and good to each other.

The doozie brace

I realized I hadn’t posted a picture of Sage in her new brace. Let me just say my girl is a CHAMP! She is awesome and even though she is so confined, this girl rocks her brace and is so happy and content all day long. Sage Everleigh has made our lives so much fuller and richer! I had NO IDEA what my heart was missing! Sage is our gem and our family is so much better because of her.

So….here it is…not so bad from the front….

20101216_0012

It’s hard to keep anything snapped between her brace, chubby thighs and a cloth diaper. And to be honest, I don’t really care. I have enough to worry.

20101216_0008

She looks like a little present in this sleeper!

20101216_0013

Here is the doozie part…

20101216_0015

Yep, cold hard metal folks!

20101216_0017

Now you can understand why Sage is up all night long. Nights are pretty brutal and some days I feel so sick from the lack of sleep I get, but we are hanging on. I pray (and cry out to God) for help each day. I couldn’t do this without God. God knew Sage could handle it so that means I can handle it.

Needless to say, she can’t fit in any baby seat since her badonkadonk is so big due to this brace. However, Momma Juju saved the day! I figured a new seat out that works great. She can play and watch her big brother and that makes Sagee-poo a very happy girl. She at least thinks it’s pretty awesome. It’s her boppy pillow, with another pillow underneath propped up by a chair.

I joined a group online of moms of Hip Dysplasia kids. It’s nice to know I am not the only one out there going through this. My prayer is that through this journey God is taking us on, that I can be a help and encouragement to other moms going through this type of situation.

In other news…we got our first snow.

20101216_0027

Abel probably ate about 2 gallons worth of snow.

20101216_0026

Realized we didn’t have snow pants that fit, so I squeezed him into these ones from last year. ha!

20101216_0028

20101216_0030

“Abel, can I get your picture?”…apparently not…

20101217_0053

Sage just being so sweet and calm! Thank you GOD for a calm baby!

20101217_0052

And I a captured a sneeze…so cute!

20101216_0005

Sage’s next doctor’s appointment is Jan. 3. We would appreciate your prayers that we get a good report! THANKS!

‘Tis the season!

Sage has about 4 Christmas dresses (all hand-me-downs or gifts) so she has been sporting one every Sunday. The kids looked too cute Sunday morning and even though we were rushing around trying to get out the door, I needed to get a few pictures of these two by the tree. This was so thrown together (in like one minute) that I caught Seth off guard. The professional in him doesn’t like to take a quick pic, but when you have 2 young kids you must work fast and if the tot is in the mood to hold his baby sister, just roll with it.

20101212_0005-2

You can kind of see part of Sage’s brace in this photo.

20101212_0009-2

20101212_0004-2

He kisses her all day long and thankfully she loves every minute of it. Oh my, how I love these two kids! As hard as it can be being a mom of young kids, those good moments sure out way the bad.

20101212_0003-2

I am so PROUD of my boy! He preformed in his first Christmas Play this past Sunday and did great. We have been practicing since October. The kids all got a CD of the play and we have listened to that thing EVERY time we are in the car. If I try listening to the radio, Abel shouts “put my Christmas music on!” I didn’t mind though because it shares the story of baby Jesus and if my kid is requesting hearing about Jesus, bring it on.

He knew the words, but got too distracted by the dust floating around from the spot lights that he was batting at the dust more than signing. But he stood still (a huge accomplished) and didn’t jump off the stage. We consider this a huge success!

She just got a little bored at the end.

My nephew had a solo. He did great. I’m so proud of you, Josh!

And a short funny video from the end of the Play.

YUM!

From the day Sage was born, we jokingly called her a “foodie”.  When she nurses, she is really loud. Just ask anyone around.

I eat a banana every morning and Sage was starting to stare me down and drool when I ate it. So, I started letting her lick my finger after I had mushed up some of the banana. I realized she was ready for food when she wouldn’t stop sucking my finger with the banana on it.

She is fun to feed because she loves to eat (so far that is). Abel was never a fan of baby food and food is the last thing on his mind so it is always a challenge getting him to eat. But Sage is loving some bananas. Abel was laughing at Sage because every time the spoon would leave her lips she started screaming until the spoon was back in her mouth.

Here’s my girl enjoying herself.

Update on Sage’s new brace: It is a different type of leg contraption that is huge and has lots of metal. It makes her weigh about 5 more pounds than she is. It has metal on the sides that stick out and jab me when I nurse her. We are slowly learning how to adjust with this new brace. She is a champ during the day, but nights are BRUTAL! Please pray for us. I keep reminding myself that God knew we could handle this so I must dig deep and find that strength that God gave me.  I’ll post new pics of her in her new brace soon. It’s a doozie!
