I won’t forget the day. Sage was 17 months old and walking around in her jammies one morning carrying her little pink Bible that she received the day she was dedicated to the Lord. She loves that little Bible and says “Bible, Bible” when she carries it. Then all the sudden out of the blue she started singing “Jesus Loves Me”. Mind you, up until this moment we had never heard her sing this song, not even in pieces. And that morning, while holding her Bible she sang all the words to Jesus Loves Me. I grabbed the video camera as fast as I could, but it was low on batteries and shut off!
She sings that song ALL the time and she also loves to sing “Away in a Manger.” I finally was able to capture some of her singing the other day when she decided it was her time to shine in front of the camera. Seth can back me up on this…the girl sings ALL DAY LONG and I’m not going to lie, it makes us happy.
My mother in-law said Sage can carry a tune too, which is quite impressive considering this momma who always sings to her isn’t too musically gifted. I mean, I’ve got nothing people in that department. Somehow, I was lucky enough to marry into a family who has musical talents up the wazoo. If we ever did a Nickerson family special, I would be the one shaking the little egg shaker. along with my brother in-law, who I was happy to find out, is also musically uninclined.
So, here is our girl in her jammies with her crazy morning hair singing her little heart out just for you. (Ignore the array of toys, the nebulizer sitting out and the mess on the table!) Take note, she was very concerned when Seth stopped watching her so he could grab a tissue. She had to stop her singing to make sure he was watching her. Clearly, she is a performer!

Julie,
That Sage is so adorable. The greatest joy a mother or grandmother….or Great grandmother has is to see her children walk and know the Lord Jesus. My joy is Christ Himself and all the many blessing He gives to us. Jesus loves me this I know for the Bible tells me so. Keep up the good work of training your children in the ways of the Lord. It is comforting to know(and a joy) that you, Seth, Abel and Sage are in God’s hands.
Happy Birthday Julie…..Love you lots and miss you too! Tish/Grandma

Oh my goodness…Sage is uber adorable. You are right, she IS melodic. And she looks so much like Abel now that she has hair
. I also like her pause for daddy before resuming her song. Hilarious! Thanks for sharing, and happy belated bday!

HAHAHA Love it…just adorable! She’s got great dialect for her age. Ava loves singing and dancing but she turns off the instant that I turn on the video camera.
