We made it a priority on Monday night to head to the beach for all the family photos.

We seriously took 15 pictures of this shot and this is the best we could get. Josh looks like he is in pain and Abel refuses to sit still for a picture.

Say what you want about my beast double stroller, but I think it rocks. This baby can transport so much stuff and KIDS. I can easily tote around 3 kids. Two preschoolers (yes 2) PLUS  a 20+ baby with a huge bag of pool gear and whatever else I want. I’m easily pushing more than I weigh.

I was begging the kids to take a picture with me. As their mom, I just want to document that we WERE having a good time on vacation! ha!

She is getting to be such a daddy’s girl. Once he walks in the door from work, I am chop liver.

Another one who thinks Uncle Graham is hilarious.

Graham doesn’t have to say anything, but somehow the kids get so crazy around him and are always laughing. We love you, Uncle Graham!

Whenever we can find matching outfits for all 3 girls, we roll with it. However, trying to get them in one shot for a decent picture is almost impossible.

And I call myself a photographer…I can’t even pull off a picture of my family.

The last day on the beach was very overcast, but it was still beautiful and Seth could finally move a little more on the last day to somewhat enjoy himself. It was bad folks. He couldn’t even pull his toast out of the toaster oven. Thankfully, he is doing much better.

Check out those front teeth. Those babies were 3 weeks of sleepless nights.

Until next year…

We love the OBX! We love the stunning house my parents rent every year. The view from the house is just breathtaking and we are so grateful that my parents allow us all to come stay at their house every year and love up on our kids all week.

However, this year 2 things happened that we weren’t expecting. Seth pulled his back out so bad that he could barely move. We even had to make a trip to the chiropractor while down there to give him some relief. So long for tennis and riding the waves this year for Seth. On Wednesday, we got a call from our neighbors letting us know that our kitchen somehow flooded and my beautiful cork floors were ruin. It was a bit devastating and sad, but after lots of prayer God gave us a peace and we are praising God that our insurance (We love USAA!!!) is covering everything. We also couldn’t have done this without our awesome neighbors, Jen & Dennis, who really stepped up and helped us while we were away of vacation. They put in lot of hours cleaning up the water in our house and meeting with contractors while we were away. We are so thankful to God for them! Seriously, if you don’t know your neighbors, you need to get out of your house and meet some awesome neighbors who can help you out in times like this. Not to mention, God calls us to love our neighbors.

I’ll be back with more OBX pictures, but a contractor is showing up at my door any minute.

We love July 4th! I think we pulled off a decent picture this year.

Sadly, this is about the only picture I got of just the two of them together. They sure give me a really hard time when I try to get a picture of them.

He HATES the ocean water and screams louder every inch he gets closer to the water.

Sage loves the water. I’m telling you this girl is fearless. She giggled with more delight the bigger the waves crushed onto her.

This baby took 9 months to create and it really felt like birthing a baby! Not to mention how proud I am of this new baby. My hubby did an amazing job designing this site. He poured many countless hours into this website and it shows. I’m so proud of him! We have a little more work to put into it, but it is a beauty and was very much needed since our business is growing. We give all the credit to God! Five years ago we would not have seen ourselves as Wedding Photographers, but clearly the Lord had other plans for us. It is an honor to work beside the man I adore and admire. I’m so thankful for this business. Thank you to all our clients!

I do want to highlight my gorgeous sister in-law’s mini maternity session. This wasn’t planned, but we all happened to be in New England together and she just so happens to be the most glowing 34 week pregnant woman. So, I had a free 15 minutes and I ran to Shauna’s room and was like “hey, do you want to do a little maternity session?” Shauna was game and we were snapping pictures in no time.

During the entire shoot she kept complaining that she looks horrible in pictures. Clearly, you all will disagree with that. These pictures came out stunning!

I LOVE THIS ONE!

Their adorable 80 year old neighbor has the cutest red barn and old tractors sitting in front of it. Really, you can’t ask for a better backdrop.

Shauna-you did fantastic! I can’t wait to meet my new nephew or niece!!!!

Abel had a BLAST! He keeps talking about the fair. Of course, he had fun. He got to stay up late, eat cotton candy & chocolate covered bananas and ride a motorcycle. What could be better than that!

Yes, Sage lives in this front pack. I need my hands free to chase Abel. She doesn’t seem to mind and does her best napping in there. The girl prefers to nap on the go which kinda works well with my crazy schedule.

A failed attempt at getting a picture next to the biggest pumpkin.

He desperately wanted to play all the games, but at $6 a pop we just couldn’t swing it.

We were DYING laughing at Abel riding this motorcycle. He was really trying to be a big guy and not show he was afraid, but then after a few minutes he warmed up to it and was having the time of his life.

Notice his tongue. This kid is hilarious!

I will say Seth is so much more comfortable behind the camera. I kept having to grab him away from the camera and come take some pictures with me. He doesn’t realize how adorable he is. When I was editing these pictures, I was stopped in my tracks and thought to myself, “hubba hubba…I have a hottie hubby!”

Thanks to our dear friend and photographer, Heather Neely, we were able to pull off this mini session. She brought her family to the field and the boys ran around with the ticks as we manage to get a few pictures. I’m really happy with how they came out and am just glad we were able to keep Abel still for a few family pictures. (something that is almost next to impossible!)

I’m 8.5 months pregnant in these photos. Just a few more weeks folks till our little girl is here. Can you even stand it? We can’t! I’m so over this whole pregnant thing and I think Seth would tell you he feels the same way. I’m sure you’ll notice Poggy has grown a bit since the last picture session of my belly.

Thanks to the Heather’s hubby, Nick, for making Abel laugh so hard.

I’m excited to take some time off and get some stuff done on the other side of the business end (you know, like paperwork and organizing of files.) This might not sound fun to most of you, but the organizer in me needs to get things in order because late Summer & Fall bring LOTS of weddings for Nickerson Studios. Watch Out! We even surprised ourselves with how much we took on, but we are excited about it.

And of course, I hope to just relax a bit before our little miss arrives. As much relaxing as the momma of Abel Anthony can do.

Newborns are my favorite to photograph (and yes, I’m sure you will see a new photo of Poggy ever day for the first month of her life!) Baby Ashlyn was every bit of precious and sweetness that a newborn brings. It was fun cuddling and feeding her and knowing soon my little one would be here.

Without further ado….meet sweet Ashlyn Reese at just 17 days old.

They call her their “little ladybug” so I thought this photo was only fitting.

I’m sure these lips get kissed a lot by mom and dad.

And we can’t leave out their first born….I love how she is looking right at Ashlyn.

If you haven’t been following us on our Facebook Page or Twitter or Flickr then you wouldn’t know that we have been up to a bunch of engagement sessions. We had to pack all our Summer/Fall couples in this month since preggers doesn’t plan on booking anything in June.

We’ve had some great couples and locations. Let me just say I love working with my husband. We almost consider it a “date”. You know you are parents when you say you feel like you are on a date when you are working. Just goes to show you we love what we do!

First, let’s start with Jessica & Mark. We actually aren’t shooting their wedding since they are getting married out of the area in July, but thankfully we had the opportunity to photograph this stylish couple. We found a great spot in DC that had many little goldmines.

The next day – and this was the weekend it was 90 degrees; thankfully, I haven’t swelled up yet. I think God is just being gracious to me – we met up with the very playful and fun-loving Amanda & John. Their lives are intertwined with baseball so it was only fitting to do their session on a baseball field. After lots of email, paperwork and phone calls we were allowed to use the Potomac Nationals’ field. We had it ALL to ourselves and it was so much fun!

Last Friday night, we met up with Michelle & Ryan at our favorite hidden spots in Lorton, VA. I have known Michelle since she was in diapers (seriously, my first memory of her is her & her sister running around the house in just their diapers.) We just met Ryan that night and he seems perfect for Michelle. They have great chemistry! We started off the evening with a romantic picnic and then frolicked in the long grass and beautiful evening light.
